land of sunshine
land of sunshine is a series of photographs made across southern california between 2001-2012. the work grew out of an aesthetic that developed with earlier desert photographs, drawing parallels between the abundant sunshine, lack of water, and scarce rain shared by coastal southern california and the desert. each photograph is made from 8”x10” and 16”x20” in-camera film negatives and are printed in editions of 10 for 16”x20” prints, and editions of 5 for works made from 8”x10” negatives (printed at 21”x26” inches).
